Each book on this list is an incredibly fun and interesting read - full of inspiration for your creative practice and personal style. Through the years, I've found myself thinking about - and returning to - these books again and again, so I thought I'd share them with you!

1 - Making a Life - A deeply inspiring book about the importance of working with our hands in the modern world & the transformative nature of slowing down. Author Melanie Falick interviews a variety of makers from around the world to share their creative process and wisdom. Recommended for any maker or artist.
2 - Women in Clothes - A fun and highly entertaining book compiling accounts from hundreds of women about their relationship with clothing. It explores the meaning & memories behind the things we wear, and how clothing is used to communicate, evoke feelings & protect/reveal the body - a very fun read!
3 - The Creative Pragmatist - A fresh approach for finding & honing your personal style. Author Amy Smilovic offers a clear, playful and personalized strategy for styling, and provides tools for dissecting outfits that don’t feel right. I read this book over the holidays last year and it gave me a new approach for thinking about my personal style & how to feel more aligned with my clothing choices.
4 - The Coat Route - A fascinating book about the history & art of tailoring. Author Meg Noonan traces the origins of one of the world’s highest quality tailored jackets to uncover the story of its construction. She introduces readers to the tailors, tradespeople, mills, & workshops behind the world’s finest textiles. Recommended for anyone interested in the art of tailoring or history of cloth.
5 - Pockets - An informative read on the history of pockets... who had them, who did not, and how pockets (and the things we carry/conceal), have evolved through time. Author Hannah Carlson explores how clothing shapes how we experience/navigate the world. An interesting read for pocket-lovers, or anyone into fashion history.
